HMWP is unable to write to the .htaccess.

    What are the suggested?

    1 – OWNER:
    e.g. root

    2 – GROUP:
    e.g. www-data

    3 – OCATAL:
    e.g. 644

    Best,

    IC

Hi, 644 permissions should do, or else try with 755. But if it’s WP Multisite, you’ll need to update htaccess manually.

HMWP isn’t rewriting the .htaccess file.

and I’ve given the system permission and tried different OCATALs.

    1 – OWNER: www-data

    2 – GROUP: www-data

    3 – OCATAL: 644, 755, 777

And is there not a search function on your support forum?

That should have been fine. Is it WP single-site or WP multi-site? Search is there in the homepage – http://support.wpwave.com/
Please generate debug report from HMWP start tab and post it here as private reply.

I added it manually to the htaccess it seems to be working now.

When I try to change the:

    Change Login URL
    New wp-admin Path*

nothing happens. No dialogue informing me on how to make the changes.

What is the steps to change it manually?

    2. Can these be changed?

    1) .woocommerce-product-gallery
    2) #wpadminbar
    3) Powered by Slider Revolution 5.4.7.4

and if so can you please provide an example. I’m struggling with HMWP.

    Thanks.

    1) For “Change Login URL”, you simply have to enter the name like “login” and hit save Settings button.

For “New wp-admin Path”, you have to enter new name like “panel” and hit save settings button. Then you’ll be redirected to another page with the instructions that needs to be followed.

    2)

    1. You can replace “woocommerce-product-gallery” using “replace in html” option under Replace Tools tab. But as it is CSS class name you should check your site after renaming it. And remove the replacement if it breaks the site.

    2. #wpadminbar – you need to check your site in logged out state

    3. Add replacement like below in “replace in html”:

Powered by Slider Revolution ==> SomeName

Thank you for the thorough explanation.

I still need help here though:

1 – When I save the settings… every-time the “New wp-admin Path*” defaults back to wp-admin. I cant change the value.

What file is it writing to?

    Thanks

If it defaults back to wp-admin then most probably it’s conflicting with one of the plugins installed or theme. Does any of other plugins or theme has feature related to renaming of admin path or login path?

Also, generate debug report from HMWP start tab and post it here as private reply. Thanks!

There was a conflict. I was able to get it to write after deactivating some plugins… strange thing is that i can only use the word “Panel” in the field, otherwise it switches back to “wp-admin”.

ok. All previous issues are resolved.

    I have a new issue:

In the admin… everything looks fine except for my themes admin panel.

    The css is broke.

It breaks when I change the “New wp-admin Path*” to anything other than “wp-admin”.

I should note, though its not a big deal, the themes screenshot is also broken.

How would you suggest fixing this issue?

    Thanks

Hi, we’ll need to look into it to see what exactly is the issue there. Can you please let us know your site’s wp-admin login details as private reply so that we can have a look at it?

Do you have any suggestions for me to try? My client doesn’t want people having access to their admin section. I apologize.
