    Hi,
I hosting my wp site on ASW EC2 and use bitnami to deploy and manage the server.
I can’t make the plugin work, once I chose the import option click save setting in the hide-my-wp plugin, the whole site will be broken (see attached picture for your reference).
And it always say: “It seems there is no writable htaccess file in your WP directory. In order to get all features of this plugin please change permission of your htaccess file. would you pls advise?” I’m very new to this, pls help.

Hi, please generate debug report from HMWP start tab and post it here as private reply.

Hi, it looks fine. Can you please check if there’s .htaccess file in your site’s root directory? If there is, then make sure it’s writable (give 755 permission to it via FTP or cpanel). If there’s no htaccess file, then please create it (https://codex.wordpress.org/htaccess)

If you are still having the issue, then please let us know your website’s wp-admin login details and FTP details (as private reply), so that we can have a look at the issue and set it up for you.

Hi, the server you are hosting with seems to do things little differently. I followed the steps to update htaccess content (https://goo.gl/a9AV1X) and could see that wordpress’s htaccess content is located in “httpd-app.conf” file under “/opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/conf/”

I tried manually adding HMWP rewrite rules there, but it’s still not working.
May be you can ask your hosting provider regarding how to and where to add the htaccess rewrite rules.

We need to add these rewrite rules to make HMWP work:
