    Hi support

I’m getting a 404 Error when the plugin asks for a decision to launch new Dashboard.

I have changed the name of the plugin folder (hide_my_wp) and restored the wp-config.php and .htaccess files. The data from the installation is still in the MySQL tables and when I reinstall the plugin it basically just uses settings from the MySQL tables. I cannot strip this data out.

I really want a clean ‘Hide my WP’ free MySQL state. How can I completely uninstall all data?

    Thank you

Hi, did you try to rename “wp-admin” with HMWP plugin? This feature is still in beta version and not officially supported. After restoring wp-config.php and htaccess, and renaming back hide_my_wp folder, goto “permalink & urls” tab and clear “New wp-admin Path” option box. Hope this helps.

    Hi Suman

Yes, I used the plugin to rename “wp-admin”
No, I cannot goto the “permalink & urls” and clear “New wp-admin Path” options.
Note: Restoring wp-config.php and htaccess, and hide_my_wp folder name: All OK

Issue: However, the moment I activate the plugin I get a 404 error and the .htaccess file is again rewritten with the previous settings etc.

    Regards

Before activating the plugin make htaccess file readonly. Then activate plugin and clear “New wp-admin Path” option. Also click “reset settings to WP” button in start tab. Now give write access to htaccess file and apply “medium privacy more compatibility” scheme in start tab and save the settings.

    Hi Suman

Whew. Crisis averted. I attempted to demonstrate the 404 issue, demonstrating to another colleague. Well (Murphy’s law). It now gives me access.

    Cheers
