As soon as I install the plugin I lose access to the dashboard / backend of any of my sites on my multisite install. I am still logged in, still have black wordpress bar at top of page, but if I try and access any dashboard feature it either gives me a 404 or takes me back to website homepage.

Thought it may be to do with previous installed security plugin, so removed that and tried again, but same result.

    Please help?

Hi, is it Multisite sub-directories site? And did you rename wp-admin path name in HMWP settings?
Please generate debug report from HMWP start tab and post it here as private reply.

    Hi Suman

Its a multisite, installed in a directory (not root) if that is what you mean.

I did not get to use HMWP to rename any path as, as soon as I network activated I can no longer access the admin side of any sites. Same with debug. Its impossible for me to post report as I cant see it. Only way for me to access site is to deactivate plugin by renaming the directory it is installed. Then I gain access to back end of WP.

I checked my htaccess file but dont see anything that looks out of place. I removed all previous plugs that handled security.

    Please help?

When I try to access the backend, it takes me to the home page of the site. When I try to access another site I get a strange, long url, such as

    http://dev.marlins.co.uk/wp-admin/wp-adminwp-admindev.marlins.co.ukwp-adminwp-adminwp-adminnetworkwp-adminsettings.php?page=hide_my_wp&die_message=revert_admin

    – which results in a 404

Can you please let us know your website’s wp-admin login details & FTP details (as private reply), so that we can look into it further.

I activated HMWP and yes, I can’t access backend. I wanted to check htaccess file but the FTP details above doesn’t seem to be working (getting Login authentication failed error). Can you please check?

As soon as I activate HMWP plugin, I loose access to backend. I checked htaccess file but didn’t find any issue there either. I have assigned this ticket to Sr. support so that he can look further into it.

Note: I’ve renamed hide_my_wp plugin folder as __hide_my_wp
