    Hi,
Google has put a phishing warning up for my admin login page after installing hide my wordpress!
I needed to remove the plugin folder from my server to log in.
Now I can log in but once I upload the plugin new, I cant login anymore!
I removed the lines of code from ht.access and wp-config files.
Can you help me to reset the settings of the plugin somehow?

Hi, go to HMWP plugin’s start tab and click “reset settings to WP” button.

Also, after activating HMWP and applying the settings, your new login URL will be:
    http://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234

The secret key “hide_my_wp=1234” can be changed from HMWP backend.

    Hi,

I have no access to the settings page for hide my wordpress, because after I upload the plugin new I am redirected to the new login page, which I changed to a series of numbers. I removed the code from the 2 files, so the new login page that worked yesterday does not work today.
Is there another way to reset the plugin?

    Thanks

Hi Paul_wr, did you try to change “wp-admin” path name in HMWP settings? Please provide us with your website backend details (as private message) so that we can have a look at the issue further.

You can check “Set as private reply” option just below (on right) the text area where you write comments.

    Hi Paul_wr,
I could only see the password, what’s the username please?
Also did you try to rename wp-admin path from HMWP settings?
And please upload hide_my_wp plugin back (rename it to something like hide_my_wp123)

    Hello,

Have you had a chance to look into this issue for me?

Hi Paul_wr, it seems like your site is infected with virus! I had to go through security check.

Regarding the issue with HMWP, it seems like your htaccess file still has the redirection rule. Using FTP edit your htaccess file (in root directory) and it should only have these lines:

    # BEGIN WordPress

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    # END WordPress

    – now save the htaccess file and make it Read-only (chmod 444).
    – goto HMWP settings page – Permalinks & URLs tab and empty the box “New wp-admin Path”, and save settings.
    – change permission for htaccess file (chmod 644)
    – goto HMWP start tab and apply “medium privacy more compatibility settings”

If these steps are confusing, then please let us know the FTP details, we’ll fix it for you.
