Hi,
Firstly, I have multisite with subdirectories option. I have domain mapping with unique domains, and disabled the option “Redirect administration pages to site’s original domain.”
Secondly, I have purchased “Hide My WP” and “WPBruiserPro”, and both have great features. I would like your suggestions for best optimum results. I don’t want to enable all of them; to create conflicts and possibly slow/break down my website. So what are your recommendations for the below common options:
WPBruiserPro:
“WPBruiser is an anti-spam and security plugin based on algorithms that identify spam bots without requiring the use of any annoying and tedious Captcha schemes.”1. Automatically Block IP Addresses: Automatically block IP Addresses that are brute-forcing your system.
2. Prevent User Enumeration: Prevents bots from enumerating users by ID in order to find their real username.
3. Block Web Attackers IPs: Blocks most dangerous IP addresses involved in brute force attacks, cross-site scripting or SQL injection.
4. Block Anonymous Proxy IPs: Blocks most dangerous IP addresses associated with web proxies that shield the originator’s IP address.
5. Hide WordPress Version: This will hide your WordPress version information from potential attackers.
6. Remove RSD Header: Removes the RSD (Really Simple Discovery) header. The header is useful only if your blog is integrated with external services such as Flickr.
7. Remove WLW Header: Removes the WLW (Windows Live Writer Header) header. The header is useful only if you use Windows Live Writer.
Hide My WP
1. Anti-Spam: Enable HMWP anti-spam system.
2. Full Hide: Enable Full Hide Mode (Disable if you use more than one domain) (Experimental).
3. Change author permalinks/URL, base and query.
4. Feed Meta: Remove auto-generated feeds from header.
5. Default Tagline: Remove ‘Just another WordPress blog’ from your feed.
6. Trust Network: Connect to trust network, fetch known dangerous IPs and patterns and ban them.
Bonus question 🙂
Is “Enable IDS Firewall” compatible with “Block Bad Queries” plugin?Thank You & Best Regards,
AbdullahNovember 11, 2016 at 5:15 am #12777Hi, make sure that you do not enable common features in both the plugins.
You can disable Anti-spam option in HMWP. Also it’s recommended to disable full hide mode.We are not sure what technique “Block Bad Queries” plugin uses to scan incoming traffic and blocks bad requests. HMWP uses PHP IDS for this. If Block Bad Queries also uses PHP IDS then it makes no sense in activating this feature in both the plugins, and you can simply use HMWP.
