Hi,
Just trialling this plugin on a client website and experiencing unusually slow load times and slow dashboard even though gtmetrix is showing acceptable results. Also there are occasions when images completely fail to load as you can see here: http://prntscr.com/94enkc http://prntscr.com/94enn9
The live website is here with HMWP activated: http://precisionadvisory.com.au/ The problem seems to be most obvious when clicking through the various pages of site.
Original development/test site here with HMWP deactivated: http://precision.metamode.com.au/ You’ll notice this installation is much faster at accessing the various pages.
Looking at the CPU and I/O resources for the host, it also seems to be possibly affecting that as well and there’s been times where it’s maxed out the I/O resources when the plugin is activated and site is being accessed.
FYI both installations are using wp super cache and running through cloudflare.
What is the problem or what am I missing?
November 19, 2015 at 3:44 pm #5976Hi, I tried browsing through the sites http://precisionadvisory.com.au/ and http://precision.metamode.com.au/ but didn’t find any difference in terms of speed and no image issue (clicked through various pages). If you are using cdn the go through this FAQ – http://codecanyon.net/item/hide-my-wp-no-one-can-know-you-use-wordpress/4177158/faqs/17469
November 20, 2015 at 3:49 am #5982There’s definitely some sort of lag there. Between me clicking on a menu item and the page actually changing, there’s about 4-5 second delay before it actually starts doing anything and loading the new page?
It’s definitely not as obvious on the installation which doesn’t have HMWP, maybe 2 seconds wait?
How can this be improved?
What is the CDN domain for cloudflare? would you happen to know? I can’t see in their documentation anywhere.
November 20, 2015 at 8:55 am #5984Cloudflare isn’t actually a cdn, it helps to serve your static files (images, js, css) from their global network, and they don’t provide you separate cdn url.
Our assumption is that it could be conflict between wp super cache and cloudflare, or hmwp and cloudflare. Can you please try disabling cloudflare and wp supercache one at a time?
November 23, 2015 at 12:55 am #6016Disabling cloudflare definitely helped a little bit…noticed a marginal improvement.
Any reason for this? How do they conflict?
November 23, 2015 at 4:51 am #6022Okay, and what if you disable wp super cache plugin and enable cloudflare + HMWP?
Make sure that you do not activate Minification in multiple places/plugins as CloudFlare offers Minification service. Also set “Compress Page” option under HMWP page source tab to “disable minify”.November 23, 2015 at 5:31 am #6023I already have ‘disable minify’ option set under compress page.
What about quick minify about permalinks and urls? That’s currently enabled.
Does wp super cache minify as well?
I’ll give the cloudflare / HMWP option a crack later on.
November 23, 2015 at 6:25 am #6025Yes, disable Minify from HMWP permalinks & urls tab as well. WP super cache does not have minify feature.

November 23, 2015 at 7:03 am #6028Theme developer recommends Cloudflare, combined with Better WordPress Minify and WP Super Cache. http://blueowlcreative.com/docs/fortuna/#extra2
I’m running cloudflare and wp super cache only on the development installation and pages load almost instantaneously (http://precision.metamode.com.au/)
On the live site however (http://precisionadvisory.com.au/) I have HMWP activated and there’s definitely speed differences there…sometimes pages load quickly but other times it take a good 3-5 seconds to load with the page loading icon in tab spinning around for several seconds trying to initiate the page load. This is not acceptable in my opinion…ruins the performance of site. All minify options are now disabled in HMWP.
Any other ideas? Could you take a look at the installations?
