Questions about general settings:
What is CDN path? (It says to enter your main CDN address)
Full hide? It says not to use if use more than one domain? ***could you please explain a little more?
Canonical redirect? Can you explain a little more?
I don’t know coding or a lot about WordPress so I will need help as I go through the settings. Please advise when you get a chance, thanks. Possibly you could configure the plugin for me since I do not know what exactly to do and I want to hide the site information to the fullest.
Regards,
Robert

July 9, 2015 at 11:00 pm #3478Can someone help me configure the permalinks & URLs tab? I don’t know what to do exactly. I am not familiar with changing paths. Please advise, thanks. Possibly you could configure the plugin for me since I do not know what exactly to do and I want to hide the site information to the fullest.

July 9, 2015 at 11:04 pm #3479Can you tell me what setting I should use for compress page? Also for Replace \/ URLs? I am not sure what to pick and the instructions don’t elaborate on everything that is an option. Please advise when you get a chance, thanks. Possibly you could configure the plugin for me since I do not know what exactly to do and I want to hide the site information to the fullest.

July 10, 2015 at 4:53 am #3487Hi,
CDN is content distribution network (http://whatismyipaddress.com/cdn). If you don’t use CDN leave this option as it is.
Canonical redirect – http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/how-to/2288690/how-and-when-to-use-301-redirects-vs-canonicalTo configure HMWP plugin please follow these steps:
– goto HMWP >> ‘Start’ Tab >> ‘Medium Privacy – More Compatibility’
scheme >> click ‘Save Settings’Note: Assuming that it’s WP single site and Apache server. Your site’s htaccess file should be writeable.
Let us know if you face any issue.

So if I choose the medium privacy it will make the changes for me? I see the instructions on other features but I am not sure about selecting other stuff. I just want to make sure WP disappears and the source code is unreadable.
July 10, 2015 at 11:04 pm #3494Suman,
Is anything supposed to be in the box under the start tab? I selected medium privacy and some stuff generated in the empty box and then when I refreshed it was gone. Did I need to copy it & save it?
Under the general setting tab what is that email sender address? Do I need to put my admin email address instead for email sender address so I receive any affiliated emails? Also, can I use the full hide without any problems? I only use one site and it is a shared-hosting service which uses Apache and has a hybrid component involving Nginx that helps with serving WP. It says experimental so I am a bit hesitant. Please advise, thanks.
The few things changed under permalinks & URLs were generated after selecting the medium privacy tab, so I guess there is nothing more to do here unless you have any pointers for me??
What about the areas under source code? Compress page says to use with cache. I use W3 total cache so should I use safe or quick minify? What about the other 6 fields on the bottom? Should I use any of those? Please advise.

One more thing I came across and possibly you can help? There is a Chrome extension called WP Sniffer which can detect a theme somehow as well as your host. It was able to detect my theme and host name when I tested it. How can I prevent that from happening? I do not want a Chrome extension detecting my theme and web host. Let me know what setting I could change to prevent this. Please advise, thanks.

Simply applying “medium privacy more compatibility” scheme should be enough and will hide wordpress and theme from your website. However depending upon the theme/plugins you are using you might need to enable other options if wordpress/theme detected. For example you might need to replace some text/words in site’s page source.
Please, let us know your website URL and leave HMWP active with “medium privacy more compatibility” scheme applied so that we can check.

I checked again and the theme was not detected by WP Sniffer so it must have been a cache issue. The host is still identified so do you know how I can remove that as well? Also, my site is not live so it has a construction page and it is not viewable. Do you want me to make you a username and password so you can login and go to the site and view the source code. I still see WP in the source code and some pugin names. Can you help with removing stuff in the source code or tell me how?

July 12, 2015 at 5:20 am #3519Suman,
I had problems staying logged in but was able to see 2 intrusions on my WP dashboard before I was kicked out. I logged in again and saw it was the captcha plugin. Should I not use my google captcha recaptcha plugin? I assume it creates a conflict because I was getting kicked out to my construction page until I deactivated it. Also, I can’t login with my dummy user profile and get to the dashboard and instead its kicking me to the main website? Please advise, thanks.
July 12, 2015 at 8:46 pm #3534Yes, please provide us with backend credentials so that we can view the page source and fix other issues.
July 12, 2015 at 9:08 pm #3538Suman,
What about the host name? Is that something you can fix? I will send credentials in a few minutes. Also, I still can’t sign in with a dummy profile to the login page.
Regards,
Robert
