I tried over and over to resolve this myself with no luck and hate to bug you based on my foul up. I just want to make sure the Hide MY WP is working the way it should be and activated. I was checking off to stuff in cloud-flare under the DNS section to make it go through them for more security like CNAME ftp and CNAME cpanel. Was about to also install their plugin and get rid of
another called WP Easy SSL, in which I accidentally had deactivated. Everything from there after went bad. I found out later that I lost all of my access to my admin login pages only the launcher page shows up. I can’t reactivate the WP Easy SSL plugin.
Do you think my selection in cloud-flare for CNAME ftp and CNAME Cpanel caused an issue with your plugin? I did undo those settings with no luck.I started a somewhat process of troubleshooting. I renamed the Launcher plugin (Made By My Theme Shop) to launch to deactivate it. The site comes up, but 404 pages are happening when trying to access anything for admin login. I then tried renaming the hide_my_wp to deactivate it I get nothing at all. No launcher page or login page. From Firefox it shows The page isn’t redirecting properly.
I haven’t edited anything with the .htaccess file other than what you stated to do, I renamed the .htaccess file, but when I check the URL the Hostgator page comes up with a 404. I resort back to the old name and checked view, all the Hide My WP entries are now gone and yes the .htaccess it set to write for the user. Don’t know what to add here. I understand very little about this, but get through what I know and can research online a lot. I hope its a small issue.I also need to mention the launcher comes up for wp-login.php and wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234 and not the new setting I had created wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=****. I did hit the view tab to look at the .htaccess before renaming it. I saw the hide my wp
line and shows 404 and not the login for wp-admin.php. Maybe this was the issue but I don’t know.I did put back the original name for launcher to re-activate and your plugin hide_my_wp. I also removed the settings in cloud-flare for CNAME ftp and CNAME cpanel. I dont know if this is a .htaccess issue. The only solution I might have if you tell me this is a server issue is to resort back from cloud-flare and pause it and go to my hosting to implement the old server DNS settings.
Thank You For Your Time
PS. I have given you the cpanel login. Let me know if you need the other login.

And you stated that “I keep seeing 404 errors like…”, can you please mention few example URLs that is returning 404 error? -
