    I change Rest API Query in HMWP, but it is still possible call:

    domain.de/?rest_route=1

    and receive some WordPress-typical answer

    What exactly does renaming the API query do?

    Hi, by default wordpress uses “wp-json” in API calls which might reveal the site as WP site. So “API Base” and “API Query” renames the default names.
