Hi, I have got many IDS alerts over the past month or so from my site and am wondering if it is blocking people from signing up on our forms.

A person came into our school the other day and said they were not able to sign up on our form on a particular page, and I checked our records, we had an alert on the same page. This alarmed me so I am wondering if there is any way to whitelist the forms on our site? or check to see if the form is being blocked by some people?

Thank you very much for your support,

    Chris

    Hi, please try these:
    – disable Anti spam option in general settings tab
    – increase Block Threshold to 30 or 40 in IDS firewall tab
    – in Dashboard >> Intrusions, check if there are requests related to signup. If so, then hover over such request(s) and click on Exclude link.

Thank You for responding. I did all the changes you recommended and will see if this helps. I didn’t notice any Intrusions that said Signup, but I saw a lot of RequestState, PostState and Server…What do these usually mean?

Those are the possibly harmful requests detect by IDS. If such request’s impact level is high then IDS will block such request. Please check thoroughly your site and see if all the functionalities are working fine.
In some cases IDS might block valid request depending upon the nature of the request, plugin being used, text being posted, etc. Then you’ll need to add such requests to Exception list by clicking Exclude link.
