Hello, I have a few questions.
1:I set up the import options and It changed the permalinks&URLs automatically.
I wonder what will happen If I change this permalinks name a bit later.2:In case I install new plugins now, what happens if I deactivate the hide wp plugin? new Installed plugin will not work?
Regards
October 20, 2015 at 3:35 pm #5301Hi,
1) you can apply HMWP settings any time you want, and deactivate it any time.
2) you can install plugins at any point, no matter if HMWP is active or not. But if you are using Nginx server then you’ll need to update the nginx config file with HMWP rules after you add or delete plugin.

We could see that wordpress and theme aren’t detected with http://www.whatwpthemeisthat.com but it’s being detected with http://www.whattheme.com. Can you please let us know your website’s wp-admin login details (as private reply) so that we can have a look at the issue further.

I hope they will not store the cache for long time, becos it’s diluting my purpose of hiding WP.And, I am curious if I can do automatical update of child theme from WP admin when there’s new release of the theme. (If child theme info was changed)
Regards
October 22, 2015 at 9:26 am #5368I just checked our test site http://ought2have.com/wp2/ with whattheme.com and it still detects theme as twentyfiteen but the theme active is twentyfoutrteen.
When you update theme, it’s the parent theme that gets updated. Child theme is where you put all your custom code, css, scripts, etc and it doesn’t get updated while updating theme.
October 23, 2015 at 9:15 am #5388But, If my child theme needs to get updates for specific functions from parent theme, and there’s new release version of parent theme, change of name of child theme won’t be problem?
Also, there’s another question.
from your plugin dashboard, there’s alert that there’s many intrusions, but these activities was from my IP. How can I exclude my IP from the alert?Regards
October 24, 2015 at 6:30 am #5393No, you can do all the changes in child theme and only parent theme will be updated. The concept of child theme is because your custom changes aren’t overwritten when you update theme.
There is currently no option to block/allow access by IP. But if you see any valid requests in intrusion list then add that request name in “exception field” under IDS Firewall tab.

Also, export current settings from HMWP start tab and save it for future reference.
