    Hi

Why cant I post a brand new support request – that’s crazy?

I cant find a post related to my request so Im tagging it onto a tenuous link in that I also use the X theme.

Ive just bought the plugin and other than it being a simple install, I have a number of tables with lots of technical options.

After reading so many posts about broken sites and the like, I don’t want to test this on our main website incase it goes down, so would like to put it onto a test site we have.
So my question is, can I install it onto our test site, put in the purchase code, take note of all the settings then install the plugin/add the purchase code onto our main site afterwards when Im sure there are no issues?

    Thanks

..Also, is there not a step-by-step guide for configuring the plugin?

For example, say I want users to log into http://www.fakesite.com/admin-panel – how do I achieve this?

    Thanks

Hi, for posting new topic, you have to first click on “Hide My WP” link under “Forums” in right sidebar. I’ve now moved it as a new topic.

Regarding your query, yes you can first setup in your test blog and then in your main site (make sure you delete HMWP plugin from test site then)

There’s a detailed documentation available within downloaded plugin folder.
You may follow these steps for setting it up quickly:
    – upload and activate HMWP plugin.
    – goto HMWP >> ‘Start’ Tab >> ‘Medium Privacy – More Compatibility’ scheme >> click ‘Save Settings’

Note: Assuming that it’s WP single site and Apache server. Your site’s htaccess file should be writeable.

For example, say I want users to log into http://www.fakesite.com/admin-panel – how do I achieve this?
    >> Do you also want to change wp-admin path using HMWP? I would like to let you know that this feature is still in beta state (marked *) and not officially supported yet.

Let us know if you have any further queries.

    Hi

Thanks for your quick response – Im a little surprised that this feature is in ‘beta’ form – isn’t the purpose of the plugin to disguise that your site is a WordPress site?

Anyone knows you can type http://www.fakesite.com/wp-admin into a URL and if the login box appears then they know it’s a wordpress site.

If this is not supported, how do I stop people being able to do this?

With HMWP you can hide http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin and http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php. You can make the login page accessible only after adding a secret code like http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234

Applying “Medium Privacy – More Compatibility” settings will automatically apply this settings as well.

However, you can also try out renaming wp-admin path and follow the onscreen instructions.
