Thank you for your help. The 444 htaccess permission issue is resolved as far as I can see within my files. However, the website is broken again after I set HMWP to medium privacy per your suggestion. Can you please help? Thank you, Suman.

Hi, I checked again, and see that 444 htaccess permission is still there.

The website was reset to normal so I tried HMWP Medium Privacy again and the error I received is, “HMWP guesses it broke your site. If it doesn’t ignore this messsage otherwise read this FAQ to solve the problem or revert settings to default.”

Over the course of several days of going back and forth to fix this 444 file permissions ‘issue’ that has already addressed and corrected many times, there has been absolutely no progress on creating compatibility by HMWP support between my site and the plugin.

The plugin is obviously accessing and editing htaccess files enough to mess the website up every time I try to use HMWP. This means that the htaccess file is properly configured on a my website so that the plugin can make changes (which of course always breaks my website when I try to use it again).

I need this plugin to work ASAP or I will ask for a refund and find another security plugin.

Hi, we can make HMWP work if the htaccess issue is resolved (HMWP does write rules in htaccess but then htaccess auto switches to 444 and sets content to default). Also, it seems like wp-admin and FTP details are no more working, so couldn’t check.
