I have follow this tuto : http://itx-technologies.com/blog/28-installer-et-activer-le-module-mod_rewrite-sur-apache-et-ubuntu
How to check if the mod_rewrite is really enable ?
Because after I have made the modification in the tuto, the “new theme path” problem is still there

Happy to see you back into business man.
So I try with the v4.0 and here is what I can say about it :
– check for updates from 3.99 didn’t mention a new version is available, I had to update manually
– when I activate the “New theme path = /template” function, the site is broken and HMWP tell it directly with “Your site has been broken! This means there’s a problem with your server Just please click “Reset Settings” to revert everything back and then read this FAQ to solve the problem.” message
– I check the FAQ link, .htaccess if fine, I deleted it and leave HMWP make a new one with the same effect as soon as I activate the “new theme path”
– If I don’t activate “new theme path” feature, everything works, but the code mention the wp-content/themes folder and so my WP is not hidden
– I use the EGO theme from (Hope you be able to solve it.
Regards.
DV

Right, it causes troubles to ‘WP Maintenance Mode’
Thanks
OK it works but it’s a workaround isn’t it ?
Will you add this in the code in a next release ?
and it seems, I’m not the only one look here

Hi,
Can you check if your apache serveur has the mod_rewrite option ?
To know that, create a phpinfo page, upload it to your serveur and access to it with a browser and then search in the page for “mod_rewrite”
If it’s not present and you have SSH or telnet access to your server, search how to install it depending of the OS of your server with Google
